Join Dr. Ana Laidley, affectionately known as Aninha Malandro, in an immersive workshop that celebrates the vibrant heart of Samba. This all-levels class offers a deep dive into the dance's rich cultural tapestry, tracing its West African Yoruban roots to its status as a symbol of Brazilian identity. Samba's journey began in Salvador da Bahia's sugar cane mills and blossomed in Rio de Janeiro, culminating in the world-famous Carioca Carnaval. The Bahian Samba de Roda, recognized by UNESCO, marks the genesis of this captivating style. Ana, with over three decades of teaching experience across the U.S., Australia, Canada, Japan, and Europe, weaves psychology and samba seamlessly. In her workshops, you'll not only learn the steps but also reconnect with your body, mind, and soul.
